Yes u can make idli poha.for this take 1 cup poha 1 onion, leftover idli cut into small pieces, 1 green chilly, 1 tomato, some green vegetables like cauliflower, beans, capsicum, cabbage, roasted peanuts . wet poha and keep them aside. take a pan heat it and put oil than put green chilly chopped & onion and fry it till onion turns into golden brown now put small pieces of all vegetables and fry them after that put tomato stir for 2 min than put idli again fry for 2 min than put wet poha and mix it well after 4-5 min take it off from flame and decorate it with roasted peanuts and coriander leaves.
If idli contains no salt you can make idli donuts by dipping it in chocolate ganauce and dry fruits.
Deepa,u should b careful not to have this idli taste in any of these recipes. When my son was young,i made pizza base with idli batter. He asked me,this taste is different, so familiar, but he took it as he liked the toppings. & entire pizza. Next time ,he told me,amma, dont make base ,like u made before. Haha! I still remember that.
First cut the idlies in long pieces and then deep fry them . They should be eaten hot otherwise they turn hard when they cool down. I made this recipe....courtesy - www.vegrecipesofindia.com
