Manisha,it s almost same. The seasoning ,u added after steaming. But,i added with the rice mixture & steamed. Sweet version also,after making dough,we will fill each ball with the sweet filling & steam. That was the difference i found,when i saw this recipe before.
Yeah, Latha. I couldn't make sweet version very nice. May be some mistake. Pearls came out good but coconut jaggery combination was not very satisfying for me. My grand daughter liked but still I felt something was missing. Do me a favour @Latha Nair. Just go thru my recepie and suggest me for sweet version.
Manisha,We will make the coconut mixture,by adding very little water to jaggery and cardomom powder. Then add coconut. When the mixture is very thick,all water gone.remove. then make dough with hotwater and rice flour ,adding ghee or oil. Take lemon size balls,flatten,put some filling inside,seal & form ball again & steam.
