Pressure cook chole. Blend onions. Heat oil. Add all khada masaala. (Cloves, cardamom, bay leaves, cinnamon )Add onion. Saute. Add garlic, ginger ( grated). Add chilli powder, chole masala. Saute. Add grated coconut. Saute. Add tomato puree. Saute for 5 minutes. Add Chole. Garnish with coriander leaves.
Pressure cook the cholas. In a wok heat 1tbsp oil. Add ground Garam masala, coriander powder, annardaana powder and salt, together with ginger and green chilies. Add this tadka to the cholas and cook for a while
Fry coconut,1 cup,small onion,4or 5 ,red dry chillies,coriander powder,.fry well till coconut is brown in colour. Grind it. Cook channa ,with this masala,adding salt & turmeric. When it s cooked,in oil fry 3,4 small onions & curry leaves. Add to the curry. The curry should b semi thick. This type of curry goes well with puttu,aapam. Batura. I like ready made channa masala also to make channa curry.
