U can add little bit wafers, no mirchi papad , or chips, roasted namkeen kinda things in mashed foods in order to make him eat .
You can convert the simple food like dalia, khichdi in some intersting food items and give them intersting names and looks. It will surely help. Like if kids dont like khichdi make veggies shots by adding vegetables he likes in khichdi and air fry it like pops. Simpy like make oats like. Tikki and serve it like tikki chaat and kids will surely love that. Just like i made oats croquettes in mango yougurt and my brother who used to hate oats said its more than yummy... Just because i gave it name crunchy tikki with mango yogurt...
My suggestion would be, be calm and let him enjoy what he eats. Its just an phase which will fade out after sometime. Am telling this with my personal experience, my son at same age had the same eating habit and me too was also worried like you. But believe me this habit went away without my knowledge. Mean time you can put ur efforts in making different recipes which are suggested by other members, just remember to add that extra crunch in what ever you make, this is what i used to do. According to me we should not force kids to eat we just can try best. Kids eating habits keep changing by time. I hope have answered your query.
You can tell him advantage of healthy eating by telling stories of his favourite characters. He must eat full meal.i have a grand daughter of 5 yrs. She is still not eating daal, rice, vege , roti in lunch.so earlier you stick to it its better. I have suggested a recipe you can check.
1.Try to give him slightly boiled vegetables & saute them with little butter & hint of salt & pepper if he likes little spicy food. He will get iron and vitamins from the veggies. 2.You can go for some fruit cream & drizzle some honey on it except sugar. This will give him source of calcium. 3.You can also try with some besan chilla by adding little chopped onions and grated paneer in it which will give him a crunchy taste. You can also give him dal paranthas with chopped onions and coriander. 4. You can try some homemade cookies which are made up of wheat flour and add some chopped nuts in it or for a change you can give a different flavour of chocolate or jam cookies. 5.You can make homemade namkeen chiwda (poha) just saute it and add his favorite choice of nuts and with some tangy masala seasoning. 6.Another option which will be very useful to you is give him some soya nuggets by adding some ketchup in it as soya is very good source of protein. 7. One last option is you can try some no bake cake with added almonds, raisins and walnuts.
I have 15 months old son..he eat everything. .what we adult eat..u also try to give less spice ..vegetables. ..or non veg...see its works
May help if you can restrict by 2days a week or give a combination of one crisp item which can be dipped into some cream or soup like a soup stick be broken and floated in the soup.
