ABOUT Oler Kofta Curry RECIPE

Yam kofta cooked in potato curry.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 2 cups yam cubes, frozen or fresh
  2. 1 onion,chopped
  3. 2-3 garlic cloves,chopped
  4. 2 green chilies,chopped
  5. 1 teaspoon ginger,grated
  6. 1 cup besan/gram flour
  7. Salt to taste
  8. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  9. 1 teaspoon garam masala
  10. Oil for frying
  11. 1 potato,cubed
  12. 2 tomatoes,chopped
  13. 1 onion,thinly chopped
  14. 2 green chilies,chopped
  15. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  16. 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  17. 2 Bay Leaves
  18. 1 teaspoon garam masala
  19. 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  20. 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  21. Salt to taste
  22. Water as required
  23. 1 teaspoon ghee
  24. 2 tablespoon oil

Instructions

  1. For Kofta- Wash and boil yam in water.Cook until soft and mash with the back of a spoon. In a mixing bowl add all the ingredients.Mix well until combined. Make lemon sized balls.Heat oil in a wok.
  2. Deep fry in oil until golden.Drain on paper towel and set aside. In the same oil, deep fry the potato cubes
  3. For curry- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and bay leaves. Stir and add onions and ginger garlic paste.Saute until light brown in color. Add tomatoes and green chilli. Cook until tomatoes are soft.
  4. Now add salt, red chilli ,turmeric powder and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add 2-3 cups of water and let it boil.Add fried potatoes and koftas. Sprinkle garam masala, ghee and chopped coriander leaves.
  5. Serve hot with roti, rice or luchi.

Looks yummy..can we add more veggies to the koftas?
