About Creamy Carrot Recipe

Sweetness of carrots and curry patta is just magical.Addition of arhar dal makes it heavenly.

Creamy Carrot

Ingredients to make Creamy Carrot

  • carrots diced 2 cups
  • dal arhar (pigeon pea lentils) 1/4 cup
  • curry leaves 12
  • turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • salt 1/4 tsp/as per taste
  • red chilli powder 1/4 tsp
  • dhania powder 1 tso
  • onion diced(optional)1/4 cup
  • tomato puree(optional) 1/4 cuo
  • Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
  • hing a pinch
  • Refined oil 1 tbsp

How to make Creamy Carrot

  1. Heat oil in pressure cooker.Add hing and after 1 min add mustard seeds.
  2. As mustard seeds start spluttering add curry leaves,salt ,turmeric chillies,masalas dal,carrots(onion+tomato puree)and stir well.
  3. Add some water and pressure cook till 3 whistles(5min)
  4. Open the lid and cook till excess water dries up.
  5. Serve with Paranthas/rotis
