Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Prawns-500 gms
  2. Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  3. Salt-As per taste
  4. Coriander powder-1 1/2 tsp
  5. Kashmiri chili powder- 2 tsp
  6. garam masala powder- 1 tsp
  7. Black pepper corns crushed -1 tsp
  8. Ginger Garlic paste-2 tsp
  9. Pearl Onions-1 cup
  10. Mustard seeds-1 tsp
  11. Curry Leaves-2-3 tbsp
  12. Tamarind water-2-3 tbsp(as per taste)
  13. Green Chillies-3-4 slit from the middle
  14. Coconut-1 cup grated

Instructions

  1. Marinate the prawns in all the masala powder and crushed peppercorns for 25 mins.
  2. In a pan heat oil and add the curry leaves and mustard and let it splutter.Now add the onions and fry till pink.Add the ginger garlic paste and sauté till the raw smell disappears.
  3. Now add the green chillies and the grated coconut and fry for 3-4 mins.Add the prawns with the marination, salt and mix.
  4. Add the tamarind water and sauté till the tamarind water is soaked by the masala. Once the prawns are cooked take off the heat.Fry some more curry leaves for garnish and add it on top of the prawns.
