About Crackling Spinach Recipe

It makes a delicious side dish or even a snack.

Crackling Spinach

Ingredients to make Crackling Spinach

  • 250 gms spinach leaves cut into small thin strips
  • 2 tbspns white til
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 2 tsp castor sugar
  • salt to taste
  • Rice flour enough to just coat the spinach
  • oil for Deep frying

How to make Crackling Spinach

  1. Wash and dry the spinach.
  2. Coat the spinach with rice flour.
  3. Roast the til and keep aside.
  4. Deep fry the spinach on medium heat until crisp but not burnt.
  5. Drain on kitchen papers thoroughly.
  6. When still slightly warm, mix the salt, sugar, chilli powder and til with it.
  7. Let it totally cool before putting it in a container.

My Tip:

To get rid of even more oil - warm the oven and spread the fried spinach on kitchen papers and put it in it for a while before adding the spices. The towels will absorb the oil and make it crispy
