Taka Paisa is a spicy and delicious snack prepared with gram flour.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Gram flour 4 cup
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Red chili pepper 2 tsp
  4. Turmeric powder 1 + 2 tsp
  5. Coriander powder 1 1/2 tbsp
  6. Dry mango powder 1 tsp
  7. Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  8. Tomato sliced 2 cup
  9. Baking soda 1/2 tsp
  10. Oil 2 tbsp + 1 tbsp
  11. Green chili chopped 1 tbsp
  12. Coriander leaves chopped 1 tbsp
  13. Sliced onion 2 large size + 1 large size
  14. Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Combine gram flour with 1 tsp salt, green chili, baking soda, 1 tbsp. oil, 1 sliced onion and 1 tsp turmeric powder. Add little water and make a soft dough.
  2. Make cylinders with the dough. Take a large pan and boil water with 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp oil.
  3. Drop these dough cylinders into the boiling water and boil for 5 minutes. Take them out and let them cool.
  4. Upon cooling cut into small rounds. Sauté onions in a pan by adding dry spices for 2 minutes.
  5. To this add tomatoes and lemon juice. Cook till oil starts to separate. Add gatta/taka paisa. Combine well.
  6. Stir for 2-3 minutes. Turn off the flame and garnish with coriander. Serve hot with tea.
