Ingredients to make Ada Pradhaman

  • Rice Ada (Readymade ) - 1 Cup
  • Water -2 cups
  • Jaggery - 1 cup
  • Thin coconut milk / 3 Rd coconut milk - 2 cup
  • Semi thin coconut milk / 2 nd coconut milk - 1 cup
  • Thick Coconut milk/ 1 st coconut milk -1 cup
  • Cardamom Powder -1/4 tsp
  • Dry Ginger powder -1/2 tsp
  • Ghee - 2 tbsp
  • Coconut pieces - 2 tbsp (cut into small pieces )
  • Cashew - 1 tbsp

How to make Ada Pradhaman

  1. *Wash and drain the rice ada.In a vessel boil the 2 cups water, switch off the flame.Soak the ada in hot water, cover it and keep it aside for 30 mins.
  2. *Drain the ada and rinse it 2 or 3 times in cold water to remove excess stickness in the ada and keep it aside .
  3. *Boil 1/2 cup water and add jaggery.Keep on stirring till it is melted, filtered it and keep it aside.
  4. *Heat 1 tbspn ghee in a pan fry the coconut pieces until golden brown and cashew seperately, keep it aside.
  5. Heat the remaing ghee in heavy bottomed vessel,fry the ada for few mins and add the jaggery syrup.stirring it continously until the mixture becomes thick .
  6. *Add the 3rd coconut milk , mix well and cook till it becomes thick.
  7. *Add 2 nd coconut milk, mix well and cook till it becomes thick again.
  8. *Finally add the 1 st thick milk, mix well.Don't boil it .Switch off the flame.
  9. *Add the fried cashews, coconut pieces, Cardamom powder & dry ginger powder.Cover it with lid for few mins.
  10. *Now the delicious Ada Pradhaman is ready to serve !!
