ABOUT balti paneer RECIPE

balti paneer is an easy and delicious restaurant style curry. you can serve this with roti, paratha, naan or kulcha.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. for gravy:
  2. 3 tbsp oil
  3. 2 tbsp ghee
  4. 2 dry red chillies
  5. 1 inch ginger chopped
  6. 4-5 sliced garlic cloves
  7. 8-10 cashews
  8. 1 tbsp chopped carrots
  9. 2 tbsp chopped cabbage
  10. 3 onions sliced
  11. 2 green cardamoms
  12. 3/4 cup tomato puree
  13. 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  14. salt
  15. 1 tsp kitchen king masala
  16. 1 tsp coriander powder
  17. 1 tsp kasuri methi
  18. 1/2 tsp sugar
  19. 1/4 cup cream
  20. water as required
  21. to saute paneer:
  22. 1 tsp oil
  23. 200 grams cubed cottage cheese
  24. 1 pinch kitchen king masala
  25. salt
  26. 1 pinch red chili powder
  27. 1 pinch kasuri methi
  28. 1 pinch garam masala powder

Instructions

  1. heat 1 tbsp oil in a kadai
  2. add red chillies, sliced ginger, garlic, cashews and saute for a few seconds
  3. add carrots, cabbage and saute for 2-3 minutes on medium heat
  4. add onions and saute until golden brown, allow it to cool
  5. add this mixture to a mixer jar and grind into a smooth paste
  6. heat 2 tbsp oil and ghee in a kadai
  7. add cardamoms, prepared paste and saute for 2-3 minutes on medium heat
  8. pour tomato puree and cook until the oil separates
  9. add salt, red chili powder, kitchen king masala, coriander powder and kasuri methi, mix well
  10. add sugar, cream and mix
  11. pour water as required and simmer for 2-3 minutes
  12. gravy is ready, take off heat and keep aside
  13. in a pan heat 1 tsp oil
  14. add cottage cheese, salt, kitchen king masala, red chili powder, kasuri methi, garam masala powder and saute for 1 minute
  15. reheat the gravy, add fried cottage cheese cubes and some water
  16. cook for 1-2 minutes on low heat
  17. balti paneer is ready, serve hot
