Ingredients to make Vazhapindi and Black Eyed Beans Thoran

  • Vazhapindi 200gms
  • Black Eyed Beans 100gms
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Coconut grated 3 tbsp
  • Ginger 1 piece
  • Green chillies 3 nos
  • Small Onions 3-5 no
  • Curry leaves few
  • Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp

How to make Vazhapindi and Black Eyed Beans Thoran

  1. Firstly Soak Black eyed beans for 1 hour, cook soaked Beans.
  2. Heat Coconut oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds
  3. Then add cleaned and chopped Vazhapindi along with turmeric powder.
  4. Add Little salt. Cover and cook. Add Cooked Black Eyed Beans To vazhapindi and mix well.
  5. Grind Coconut, Green Chillies, Little curry leaves, Ginger. Mix this with cooked Beans and Vazhapindi.
  6. Cook for another 2 mts. Serve hot with plain Rice.

My Tip:

Cut Vazhapindi into rounds. Remove the strings with a fork.
