About Chemba Puttu Recipe

Puttu is a healthy Breakfast commonly served almost every Homes in kerala. Puttu is made with rice Flour, wheat flour etc.

Chemba Puttu

Ingredients to make Chemba Puttu

  • Chemba puttu Podi 1 cup
  • coconut grated 1/2 cup
  • Warm water as required
  • salt to taste

How to make Chemba Puttu

  1. In a bowl, mix rice flour, salt with water till it resembles bread crumbs.
  2. In a Putt Maker, First layer with Fresh Grated Coconut, then with Mixed Rice Flour approximately 2 Tbsp of Flour.
  3. Again layer with Coconut. Continue till the Putt Maker is full.
  4. Steam the Putt for abt 10 mts or till the steam comes out from the Top.
  5. Serve Hot with any spicy Curry like Fish Curry, Beef Curry, Chicken curry, Black Gram Curry.
  6. Also can be served with Banana and Sugar.

My Tip:

To know the correct wetness of the flour, hold it tightly inside ur palms. If that stays it is done. Or else u need to mix with little more water.
