ABOUT Arbi Tamator in Dhaba Style RECIPE

Colocasia or Arbi or Arvi comes with lots benefits and has rich source of nutrients, which includes magnesium, iron, fiber, potassium, zinc, copper and phosphorus. It also contains good amounts of antioxidants, as well as vitamins A, B6, C and E. Tomato or Tamator contain a great deal of Vitamin A & C. This is primarily because these vitamins and beta-carotene work as antioxidants to neutralize harmful free radicals in the blood. Using such healthy ingredients in Jai Ki Rasoi Se made "Arbi Tamator in Dhaba Style". This dish can be served with any Indian bread or Flavored Rice.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Colocasia (Arbi) - 200 Grams
  2. Finely Chopped Tomato (Barik Kate Tamator) - 3 to 4 Medium Size
  3. Finely Sliced Onions (Barik Kata Onion) - 1 to 2 Medium Size
  4. Ginger Garlic Paste (Adrak Lasoon Paste) - 1 Table Spoon
  5. Finely Chopped Coriander (Barik Kata Hara Dhaniya) - ½ Bunch
  6. Finely Chopped Mint Leave (Barik Kata Pudina) - ½ Bunch
  7. Cumin Seeds (Shahi Jeera) - 1 Tea Spoon
  8. Coriander Powder (Dhaniya Powder) - 1 Table Spoon
  9. Cumin Powder (Jeera Powder) - ½ Tea Spoon
  10. Red Chilli Powder (Lal Mirch Powder) - 1 Table Spoon
  11. Turmeric Powder (Haldi Powder) - 1 Tea Spoon
  12. Slit Green Chillies (Kati Hari Mirch) - 5 to 6
  13. Whole Spice Powder (Garam Masala Powder) - ½ Tea Spoon
  14. Oil - As Per Requirement
  15. Salt According to Taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pressure pan or cooker. Once the oil is hot add cumin seeds and allow them to crackle
  2. Add the finely sliced onions and cook till they become golden brown
  3. Add ginger garlic paste and mix it. Cook till the rawness from the paste get removed
  4. At this stage add the Colocasia. Mix and cook for 2 to 3 minutes
  5. Now add all dry powders like red chilli, turmeric, coriander, cumin and whole spice powder. Mix all the ingredients and cook till the oil get separated from it
  6. Add finely chopped tomatoes and mix it. Season it with salt according to taste. Add one cup of water, cover it and cook on slow to medium flame till to get 3 to 4 whistles. Switch of the gas and allow the pressure gets subsidize
  7. Remove the lid and finally add finely chopped green coriander & mint leaves and slit green chillies. Mix all and cook for another 2 minutes
  8. Now the dish is ready to be serve with any Indian bread or flavored rice
