Ingredients to make Manathakalai Keerai Thani Saaru / Black Nightshade Thanni Saaru

  • 2 Cups Manathakali Keerai, Chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies, slitted
  • 2 Medium Onions, Finely chopped
  • 1/4 Cup Coconut, grated
  • 1 Tsp Jeera / Cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste

How to make Manathakalai Keerai Thani Saaru / Black Nightshade Thanni Saaru

  1. Take Manathakali keerai, green chillies and finely chopped onions in a deep pan.
  2. Add 2 Cups of water and cook it for 10 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, grind coconut and Jeera to a fine paste by adding water.
  4. Add the ground paste along with 1 - 11/2 cups of water and salt.
  5. Boil it for couple of minutes and switch off the flame.
  6. Serve with plain rice.
