ABOUT Spicy Tofu RECIPE

Tofu, also known as bean curd, is a food cultivated by coagulating soy milk, and then pressing the resulting curds into soft white blocks. Tofu can be soft, firm or extra firm. Tofu is very healthy. So this is very healthy and spicy recipe. This recipe is inspired from Sanjeev Kapoor's recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 150 g Tofu
  2. 1 ren onion/green onions
  3. 1 inch ginger
  4. 10-12 cloves garlic
  5. 5-6 pieces green chili
  6. 1 broccoli flower
  7. 8-10 oyster mushrooms
  8. 2-3 dry red chilies
  9. 1/2 tbsp red chili flakes/red chili powder
  10. Salt to taste
  11. 1/3 tbsp sugar
  12. 1 tbsp corn starch
  13. 2-3 tbsp oil
  14. Water as required

Instructions

  1. Chopped the onion. Chopped the ginger-garlic-green chili in slice. Cut the broccoli and mushrooms.
  2. Slice the tofu into cube shape.
  3. In the pan heat the oil and add the dry red chilies. Then add onion, ginger, garlic and green chilies and saute well.
  4. Add some broccolis and mushrooms. Mushrooms will help to moist the broccolis. Saute them very well.
  5. Now add salt to taste and red chili flakes/red chili powder. Add pinch of sugar.
  6. Add some water and when it starts to boil then add corn starch paste to get a thick gravy.
  7. Now add sliced tofu and mix them very well.
  8. After 5 minutes switch off the gas and serve it with hot steamed rice.
