ABOUT Lettuce Salad with pears RECIPE

Green leafy veggies when eaten raw as salads is really yummy and full of nutrition as no cooking is involved and no vitamin is lost. I prepare this dish to go along with my dinner. It is light and very good. It serves as a dessert and is very satisfying. #foodrevolutionday2016 #jamiesitalianindia #betterbutter

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 2 cups torn green lettuce leafs
  2. 1 pear
  3. 1/4 cup chopped red cabbage
  4. 2 garlic cloves smashed
  5. 1 tsp honey
  6. 1 tsp Lemon juice
  7. 1 tsp olive oil
  8. 1/2 tsp black salt or as per taste
  9. 1/2 tsp celery salt
  10. 1/4 tsp red pepper
  11. 1 tbsp chopped walnuts
  12. 1 tsp Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the vinaigrette or the salad dressing. Mix honey, lemon juice, olive oil. Add chopped/grated garlic along with red pepper into it. Add black salt and celery salt. Keep it aside.
  2. Add the torn lettuce leafs in a salad bowl. Add chopped cabbage. Cut and chop pears into bite size pieces. Add the chopped pear into the bowl.
  3. Add the vinaigrette into the salad bowl. Mix it evenly with a spoon.
  4. Add chopped walnuts into the salad bowl.
  5. Lightly toast sesame seeds and sprinkle it over the green lettuce leaf salad.
  6. Keep the salad bowl in fridge for atleast 30 minutes and then serve.
