ABOUT Warqi puri RECIPE

Popular tea time snack that goes well with tea, here in Surat it is must in eid, some people like sweet, but in my family we eat savory one.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. All purpose flour or maida 300 gm
  2. Oil 2 tbsp
  3. Ghee 2 tbsp
  4. Roasted cumin powder 1/2 tsp
  5. Black pepper powder 1/4 tsp
  6. Salt 3/4 tsp
  7. Oil for frying and as needed

Instructions

  1. Mix maida, salt, black pepper powder , roasted cumin powder, ghee, oil into a bowl.
  2. Rub the flour at least for 5 to 8 minutes.
  3. Make a soft dough using water.
  4. Now take balls to roll Puris. Roll all puris. Take one puri, apply oil on it, sprinkle some maida, take second puri, apply oil on both sides, sprinkle maida on both sides. Make all puris like this.
  5. Now take one puri, put second one and same way make 5 puris layer.
  6. Roll all 5 layers puri, fold it and cut from 2 inches distance.
  7. Fold it like this.
  8. Cut it.
  9. Now flatten it and roll it.
  10. Roll into a small puri shape
  11. Heat oil in kadai and deep fry in hot oil till both sides seems golden and crisp.
  12. Warqi puris are ready to serve.
