Kaayi Anna

Ingredients to make Kaayi Anna

  • Cooked rice/ Anna 1 cup
  • Ghee 2 tsp
  • Mustard 1/2 tsp
  • Chana dhal 1/2 tsp
  • Urad dhal 1/2 tsp
  • Cashews 10-12
  • Dry red chilly 5-6
  • Few curry leaf
  • Fresh grated coconut 1 cup
  • salt as per taste
  • Asafoetida1/2 tsp

How to make Kaayi Anna

  1. In a pan heat ghee, splutter mustard when it stops to crackle add chana dhal, urad dhal and saute until golden brown.
  2. Now add cashew, dry red chilly, asafoetida and curry leaf and saute until cashews are slightly golden.
  3. Switch off the flame, add coconut, cooked rice and salt.
  4. Mix everything well and serve with a spicy side dish.
