Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 180 gm Basa
  2. 30 ml Sesame Oil
  3. 2 gm Mustard Seeds
  4. 3 gm Cumin seeds
  5. 2 gm Fenugreek Seeds
  6. 2 gm Dried Red Chilies
  7. 5 gm Curry Leafs
  8. 5 gm Green Chillies
  9. 10 gm garlic
  10. 150 gm Onion
  11. 20 gm Tamarind
  12. 150 gm Tomatoes
  13. 2 gm Turmeric powder
  14. 2 gm Red Chilli Powder
  15. 4 gm Coriander Powder
  16. Salt to taste
  17. For the Spicy Powder (1100 gm ) :
  18. 100 gm Fenugreek Seeds
  19. 200 gm Mustard Seeds
  20. 400 gm Cumin Seeds
  21. 200 gm Coriander Seeds
  22. 100 gm Black Pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat oil add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, dry red chili, chopped garlic, green chili ,onion and curry leafs.
  2. Cook till onion get translucent add turmeric, red chili and coriander powder.
  3. Soak tamarind in lukewarm water for 10 minutes, take out the pulp add to the gravy. Wash and puree tomatoes, add to the dish.
  4. Cook the gravy for 15 minutes add fish to it.
  5. To make the spicy powder, dry roast all the ingredients and grind to a fine powder.
  6. Check the fish, sprinkle spicy power.
  7. Garnish the cooked fish with curry leafs and red chilli.
