Onion pakoras with a variation that is infact a much needed change. A change for the better in terms of taste and texture. Fluffy and melt in mouth pakoras with ketchup or any dip of choice are an ideal choice for the kids afterschool snack or a sumptious one at iftaar. Everyone will relish these ,golden crisp and crunchy goodies at the time of breaking their fast due to it's aroma that comes mainly due to the addition of dry fenugreek leaves. Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Gram flour 1 cup
  2. Onions sliced 4
  3. Kasuri methi 2 tbsp
  4. Salt 1 tsp
  5. Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
  6. Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  7. Ginger garlic green chilli paste 1 tsp
  8. Baking soda 1 pinch
  9. Asafoetida 1 pinch
  10. Anardana (pomegranate) powder 1/2 tsp
  11. Coriander leaves finely chopped 1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. Make a thick batter with all the ingredients.
  2. Use water only if required and that too only a little.
  3. Onions leave a lot of water so it is advisable to use as little water as needed.
  4. Keep it aside for 20 minutes.
  5. Deep fry these pakoras few at a time dropping small balls in hot oil either with your hands or a spoon.
  6. Serve these deliciously crunchy pakoras with any chutney of your choice at iftaar.
  7. If serving to kids, do it with their favourite dip- the ketchup.
