Rawa Idli

Ingredients to make Rawa Idli

  • Sooji 2 cup
  • Vermicelli 1 cup
  • Curds as required
  • Salt as per taste
  • Oil as required
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Urad dhal 2 tsp
  • Channa dhal 2 tsp
  • Cashews for garnishing
  • Curry leaves a few
  • Onions 2
  • Baking soda

How to make Rawa Idli

  1. Take 2 cups Sooji and add 1 cup vermicelli. Add salt.
  2. In a pan, saute Oil, Mustard, Urad Dal, Channa dal, Cashews, Onions and Curry leaves. Add this to the sooji and vermicelli mixture.
  3. Add curd and some oil. Mix well, add a little water to get a batter like consistency.
  4. Finally add 1 tsp of baking soda. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
  5. Pour in a Idli maker. Steam it till done.
  6. Serve hot garnished with grated carrots and fried cashews.

My Tip:

Add Oats for a healthier version. Omit vermicelli and make with only Sooji. You can use Eno Salt.
