About Majjiga Pulusu Recipe

Traditional dish made with buttermilk in Andhra Pradesh.

Majjiga Pulusu

Ingredients to make Majjiga Pulusu

  • Thick yogurt 250 gms
  • water 2 cups
  • ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  • salt as per need
  • red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • methi powder 1/2 tsp
  • For tempering: oil 3 tbsp
  • curry leaves 2 sprigs
  • red chillies 3 to 4
  • hing a pinch

How to make Majjiga Pulusu

  1. Take yogurt into a bowl and stir well with a hand beater or stir with a whisk.
  2. Add water gradually to get thick, buttermilk like consistency.
  3. Add salt, red chilli powder, fenugreek powder and stir well.
  4. Add ginger garlic paste and coriander to garnish.
  5. Heat oil in a wok or kadai add curry leaves, red chillies and hing. Turn off the flame and pour tempering in the stew. Serve hot with steamed rice.
