Ingredients to make Black Forest Cake

  • Eggs - 4
  • Castor Sugar - 3/4 cup
  • Butter or any refined vegetable oil - 3/4 cup
  • Refined flour - 1 1/4 cup
  • Baking powder - 1 tbsp
  • Coco powder - 1/2 cup
  • Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
  • Cherry syrup 1 cup
  • Whipped cream - 3 cup
  • Chocolate bar - 1 (for decoration)
  • Glazed cherries - 8-10 ( for decoration)

How to make Black Forest Cake

  1. Beat the eggs until light and fluffy. Add castor sugar to it and beat until it dissolves into the egg. Add melted butter or refined vegetable oil and beat well.
  2. Sieve together refined flour, coco powder and baking powder. Add the mixture into the egg batter, add vanilla essence and beat until a smooth ribbon drop batter.
  3. Preheat the oven for 2-3 minutes at 180 degree Celsius. Grease a cake tin with butter or veg oil and cover the inside with butter paper. Pour the cake batter into it and bake it for 25 - 30 minutes at 180 degrees centigrade. Take out when done and let it to cool for 1/2 an hour.
  4. Cherry syrup - you can buy canned cherry syrup from the supermarket or you can make it at home (take 10-12 chopped cherries and few unchopped put them into a sugar syrup of 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water, heat them untill it reduces to half. Let it cool down totally.
  5. Beat the whipped cream until light and fluffy. Now cut the cake into two layers. Put half of the cherry syrup with the help of a spoon into first layer and cover with whipped cream.
  6. Put the second layer over it and repeat with cherry syrup and whipped cream. Decorate the top with glazed cherries and chocolate. Serve this dessert during special occasions.
My Tip: You can decorate the top with fresh fruits also like apples, grapes, strawberries and chocolate.
