ABOUT Kulfi RECIPE

Kulfi is a frozen indian dessert made from full cream milk thickened with khoya and chopped badam and pista.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 5.5 cups milk
  2. 200 grams khoya or you can also use plain white barfi 4-5 pieces
  3. 1 cup sugar
  4. 4-5 tsp cornflour
  5. 1/2 cup milk to dissolve the cornflour
  6. 10-12 Cardamoms powdered
  7. 10 pistachios chopped
  8. 10 almonds chopped
  9. Saffron dissolved in milk
  10. Rose petals and chopped pistachios for garnishing

Instructions

  1. 1.In a wide pan heat milk once the milk is boiled add cornflour dissolved in 1/2 cup milk. Mix it well and let it boil for few mins.
  2. 2.Grate khoya or crumble it very well there should not be large pieces. After the mixture gets creamy add grated khoya mix it well. Stir the mixture in small intervals.
  3. 3.Now add sugar to the mixture. Stir well. After 2-3 mins the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is thickened add cardamom powder, chopped pistachios and almonds. Stir it very well cook for another 1 min. Switch off the flame and at last add saffron dissolved in milk
  4. 4.Let the kulfi mixture cool down completely. Then pour the mixture into kulfi moulds and keep it in freezer till it sets.
  5. 5.Once the kulfi is set unmould the kulfi by rubbing the moulds between your palms. Take it out in the serving plate garnish with chopped pistachios and rose petals. Serve immediately!!
