Pointed gourd cooked in poppy seed coconut and mustard paste

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 250 gm parval sliced
  2. 1 tbsp poppy seeds
  3. 1 tbsp mustard seed
  4. 1 tbsp coconut grated
  5. 5 green chillies slit
  6. 1 tsp kalonji
  7. Salt to taste
  8. 1/2 tsp turmeric
  9. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  10. 2 tbsp mustard oil

Instructions

  1. Cut the parval lengthwise. Keep aside
  2. In a bowl add 1 tbsp mustard seed 1 tbsp poppy seeds and 1 tbsp grated coconut. Add 2 green chillies slit. Soak it in water water for 15 min. After 15 min make a paste of it
  3. In a pan heat oil. Add kalonji. Now add the parval. Fry for few min
  4. Add Salt, turmeric and red chilli powder. Mix well.
  5. Now add the mustard poppy seeds and coconut paste. Mix well
  6. Cook for 5 min till oil separates. Add 1/2 cup water cover and cook for 5 min. Add green chillies and 1 tsp more mustard oil. Cook for 2 min more
  7. Serve hot with rice
