Ingredients to make Dahi Vadas

  • 2 1/2 Cups split white Urad daal
  • 1 cup curd(It shouldn't be sour)
  • 1/2 cup little milk
  • 1 inch piece Ginger
  • few curry leaves
  • 3-4 green chillies
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Roasted Cummin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water for grinding
  • Oil for frying
  • For tempering
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2-3 Slit green chillies
  • Few Curry leaves (10-12 piece)
  • 1/2 tsp Split urad daal

How to make Dahi Vadas

  1. Soak Urad daal in enough water for 6-8 hrs.Once fully soaked drain the water.
  2. Now grind the daal with the other ingredients(Except red chilli powder n cumin powder ) with little water.The batter should be grinded well but not to a very fine paste.It should be a little coarse.
  3. Now put the oil in the pan to heat.
  4. Make small dumplings of the batter n put them in the oil.Fry them till golden brown.Take out on a kitchen tissue.
  5. In a another pan take 2 cup warm water.Put the vadas in the water.
  6. Let it soak for 2-3 mints.Now squeeze out the excess water n keep aside.
  7. Beat the curd well with milk.Now put salt to taste in the curd n mix well.
  8. Put the vadas in the curd n let them soak in it.
  9. Sprinkle some red chilli powder n roasted Cummin powder
  10. Now make the tempering n put it over the vadas.
  11. Tadaaaa its ready to be devour... 😊 😍
