5 Minute Kesar Peda

Ingredients to make 5 Minute Kesar Peda

  • Kesar Peda - Makes 40 bite size pedas
  • 2 cups : Non fat Dry milk powder
  • 14oz can : Sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 tsp : Saffron / kesar dissolved in 2 tsp of warm milk
  • 2 to 3 drops: yellow food color (optional )
  • 100 gms : Unsalted butter

How to make 5 Minute Kesar Peda

  1. In a microwave safe bowl, add the melted butter and other ingredients and mix well.
  2. Cook this mixture in the microwave on high for 3 minutes stirring in intervals.
  3. Now set this aside for the mixture to cool enough to handle.
  4. Grease your palms with ghee/oil and take a spoonful of mixture and roll them into pedas, flat and round.
  5. Garnish the tops with crushed nuts of your choice.
  6. I used a star tip and made a star design on the top and garnished with roasted deshelled pistachios.

My Tip:

Every microwave is different so time of cooking might vary, all you want is a semi dry dough, as it dries up further once cooled. Roll out the peda dough while still warm using a oiled rolling pin and cut with cookie cutters for fun shapes.
