ABOUT coconut almond mefroukeh ( labenese dessert ) RECIPE

Mefroukeh is very famous labenese dessert during eid festival . i have done some experiment with it and made it more healthy .

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. For coconut crust - 1 cup desicnated coconut powder
  2. 2 tsp corn flour / custard powder
  3. 1 tbsp clarifeid butter / ghee
  4. 1/4 cup almond powder
  5. for sugar syrup - 1 tbsp sugar
  6. half cup water
  7. 1 tsp cardamom powder
  8. for cream stuffing - 1 tbsp cooking cream
  9. 3-4 brown bread slices cut into small pieces
  10. 1 tsp clarified butter
  11. 1 tsp rose water
  12. 1/4 cup full fat milk
  13. some chopped alomonds for garnishing

Instructions

  1. First for sugar syrup - in a pot add water , then add sugar and cardamom powder . cook It until sugar desolves . turn off the burner .
  2. In a bowl take cornflour / custard powder . Add 2 tsp cold milk and mix it well .Keep it aside
  3. Now for coconut crust - in a pan add clarified butter . Then add desicnated coconut powder and roast it until it becomes light golden brown in color .
  4. Now add desolve custard powder and sugar syrup.Then add alomond powder . Stir It continuesly . cook until it becomes sticky .Turn off the gas .
  5. Now take pie mould , grease it with butter / ghee . Put this coconut mixture on it and press it with hands . keep it aside .
  6. Now for cream stuffing - in a pan add 1 tsp clarified butter then add brown bread pieces and cooking cream . Now add milk and roase water . Cook until mixture leaves the sides of the pan .Turn off the burner .
  7. Now put this cream stuffing on the center of the coconut crust.
  8. Garniah with some chopped almonds . Demould it and serve .
