Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Ready to make gulab jamun mix 100 g
  2. Milk for kneading, as required
  3. For sugar syrup:
  4. Sugar 1 & 1/2 cup
  5. Water 2 cups
  6. Saffron few strands
  7. Green cardamom and nutmeg powder 1/2 tsp
  8. Ghee for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients for sugar syrup in a broad vessel.
  2. Heat it till it starts boiling
  3. Let it cook for 5 mins more in low flame and keep it aside.
  4. Sugar syrup is ready.
  5. Mix the ready to make gulab jamun mixture with milk and knead a soft dough from it.
  6. Cover it with damp cloth.
  7. Take some dough and roll it like a roti but bit thick.
  8. Now using a cutter make same size of round shapes.
  9. Place the round shapes overlapping with each other.
  10. Start rolling from one side all the circles/rounds and make a proper roll.
  11. Now place this roll horizontally and cut into two equal parts.
  12. Make all the remaining gulab jamuns similarly.
  13. Carefully deep fry them in ghee at low flame till golden brown.
  14. Place the fried gulab jamun in the sugar syrup gently.
  15. Let them soak in the sugar syrup for about an hour then remove them from it.
