About Coconut Barfi Recipe

A classic Indian sweet, this is a delicious never fail dessert prepared during festivals and special occasions.

Coconut Barfi

Ingredients to make Coconut Barfi

  • Fresh coconut Scrapped - 2 cups
  • ghee - 2 to 3 tsp
  • sugar - 1 cup
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • A pinch saffron strands
  • Few nuts for garnishing

How to make Coconut Barfi

  1. Boil milk in a thick bottomed pan, add sugar and cook till it melts.
  2. Add saffron and mix well.
  3. Add coconut, mix well and cook on low flame till the mixtures turns thick.
  4. Add Ghee and mix well.
  5. Put the mixture on a greased plate, garnish with dry fruits of your choice.
  6. Cool and serve.

My Tip:

Add cardamom powder for extra flavour.
