ABOUT Corn Cookies RECIPE

These are special cookes, made with corns. A perfect recipe for Eid and Ramadan.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 200 gram sugar
  2. 200 ml oil
  3. 2 egg
  4. 250 gram corn flour
  5. 125 gram maida
  6. 50 gram milk powder
  7. 1 tsp dry active yeast
  8. 1 and 1/2 tsp baking soda
  9. 1 and 1/2 tsp green cardamom powder
  10. Pinch of salt
  11. 1 tbsp khus khus
  12. For greasing, 1 egg yolk
  13. 2 tsp powder sugar
  14. 1 tsp vanilla essence
  15. 2 tbsp Milk
  16. For garnish, powder sugar

Instructions

  1. Take egg, oil, sugar and cardamom powder in deep bowl and mix it nicely
  2. Now add corn flour,maida, milk powder, baking powder,pinch of salt, khus khus and dry yeast in it and mix well and make smooth dough of it
  3. Now cover it and keep to rest for 10 to 15 minutes
  4. After 15 minutes again knead the dough and divide in two equal parts.
  5. Take one part of dough and make chapati of this (not so thin)
  6. Now take a cookie cutter and cut in shape of your choice
  7. Do same with all remaining dough and make cookies out of it.
  8. Now line a baking plate with butter paper and arrange all cookies in baking dish
  9. Now whisk egg yolk in a bowl ,add powder sugar,milk and vanilla essence and mix it well
  10. Now apply the cookies with this egg yolk and milk mixture
  11. Now place the dish in preheated oven and bake the cookies for 20 to 25 minutes at 170* to 180* or till crisp
  12. Leave them on the wire rack to cool.
  13. Now corn cookies are ready to serve, sprinkle some powdered sugar over the top at time to serve (it's optional)
