Coconut Milk (Thenga Paal) Rasam

Ingredients to make Coconut Milk (Thenga Paal) Rasam

  • Thick coconut Milk (1 st coconut Milk ) - 1/3 cup
  • Semi Thin coconut Milk(2nd coconut Milk) - 1/2 Cup
  • Thin coconut Milk (3 rd coconut Milk ) - 1/2 Cup
  • tamarind Extract -1/4 Cup
  • salt -to taste
  • turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
  • TO TEMPER :
  • coconut Oil - 1 Tsp
  • mustard seeds -1/4 tsp
  • hing -1/8 tsp
  • Dry red chillies -2
  • curry leaves -1 sprig

How to make Coconut Milk (Thenga Paal) Rasam

  1. Heat oil in a vessel, temper the ingredients given under, add semi thin and thin coconut milk, tamarind extract, salt,turmeric powder .Bring to boil until the raw smell of tamarind goes away.
  2. Then add the 1 st coconut milk,switch off the flame immediately. Serve hot with Rice and any choice of your curry !!

My Tip:

After adding the coconut milk, don't boil it.
