Besan ki Barfi

Ingredients to make Besan ki Barfi

  • Besan (gram flour) - 350 gms
  • Cardamoms - 6-10 pieces
  • Almonds - 30-40 pieces
  • Sugar - 250-300 gms
  • Pure Ghee - 250 gms

How to make Besan ki Barfi

  1. Put the besan through a strainer and keep it aside.
  2. Grind the cardamoms.
  3. Chop the almonds and put them in a bowl.
  4. Take a deep pan or a Karachi. Place it on the medium heat and pour the ghee in the Karachi.
  5. Heat the ghee properly and add besan in it.
  6. Keep on mixing the besan in the ghee, stirring it all the time.
  7. You have to stir it vigorously for 15-20 minutes, till it becomes brown in colour. Be careful it does not burn.
  8. Now reduce the heat and add almonds. Add the ground sugar and mix it well.
  9. Switch off the stove and add cardamom powder in it.
  10. Pour the contents on a thali (or a steel plate), and let it cool for at least an hour.
  11. Cut it into neat square pieces.

My Tip:

You can garnish it with silver leaf.
