ABOUT Basic Sponge Cake RECIPE

This recipe makes a very airy sponge and can be topped with just about anything

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 cup sugar
  2. 1 cup Flour
  3. 6 eggs

Instructions

  1. Separate the eggs. Into the egg yolks add the sugar and whisk for at least 6-7 minutes until pale and frothy. Fold in the flour.
  2. Whisk the egg whites as until stiff. Fold into the egg yolk mix.
  3. Pour into a lined tin. Bake for 25 minutes at 180 degree centigrade.
  4. Let it cool. And then ice as per the recipe requires you to.
