Caramalized Onion Mushroom Tarts

Ingredients to make Caramalized Onion Mushroom Tarts

  • 1 puff pastry sheet
  • 2 onions sliced
  • 1 pack mushrooms sliced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp crushed black peppercorns
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 bowl mixed cheese (provolone, pepper jack, and mozzarella)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

How to make Caramalized Onion Mushroom Tarts

  1. Thaw the frozen pastry according to package directions.
  2. Preheat oven to 400 Deg F (200 Deg C).
  3. Heat oil in skillet. Add mushrooms. Sauté till nicely browned. Remove and keep aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add little more, if required. Add onions and stir fry till caramelized (browned). Switch off gas.
  5. Combine mushrooms and onions. Toss in all the remaining ingredients except the cheese.
  6. Line a baking tray with oven proof parchment paper. Roll out the dough and cut in equal sized squares. Pierce the dough all over with fork to prevent the dough from rising.
  7. Sprinkle the cheese on the squares and add a heaped spoon of onion-mushroom mixture spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake in oven for 20-25 minutes. Remove from oven and serve with your favorite hot beverage.
