ABOUT Oats or lauki ke dahi vade RECIPE

This is my innovation, a unique recipe of dahi vada made with oats and bottle gourd.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Oats 2 hand full
  2. Kaju [cashew nuts] 1/2 hand full
  3. Lauki [bottle gourd] 500 gm
  4. Boiled potatoes 3
  5. Green chili chopped 2
  6. Ginger chopped 2tsp
  7. Salt
  8. Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  9. Garam Masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  10. Besan 3 tbsp
  11. Dahi [curd] 1kg
  12. Sugar 5 Tbsp
  13. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. wash, peel and grate the nottle gourd. Squeeze them to remove the extra water from them.
  2. Grind the oats and cashew nuts together.
  3. Now apart from the curd and sugar, mix rest of the things to form a thick batter for the vadas.
  4. Heat oil on a medium flame, in kadhai.
  5. Now mix the sugar in curd, and refrigerate.
  6. Now add small dumplings of the batter into the oil, deep fry them until golden. Once a little cold, add the vadas into the curd mixture and serve.
