Ingredients to make Whole Wheat Sesame Crackers (Vegan)

  • 1 and 1/4 cup whole wheat flour (atta)
  • ½ cup white sesame seeds
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ tablespoon sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup water

How to make Whole Wheat Sesame Crackers (Vegan)

  1. Preheat the oven at 180 degrees Centigrade.
  2. Roast sesame seeds in a heavy bottom pan until fragrant and golden brown.
  3. Turn off the heat and transfer them to a plate to cool.
  4. In a large bowl, mix together whole wheat flour, salt and olive oil. Add sesame seeds.
  5. In a small bowl, add sugar to warm water and mix till sugar dissolves.
  6. Add this water to the whole wheat mix and knead. The dough should be a little stiff but pliable. (You may require a little more water than the quantity specified)
  7. Divide the dough into two equal parts. Take one part and roll out a rectangle with a rolling pin
  8. Cut into small equal size squares.
  9. Bake in a pre heated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or till the crackers turn golden. Store in an airtight container.

Knead dough till it becomes smooth.
