ABOUT Potato chips fritters / pakoras RECIPE

In monsoon tea without pakoras is difficult. This monsoon make your tea time pleasant with these yummy market style potato chip pakoras at home.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Potatoes 4
  2. Chat Masala 2 tbsp
  3. Gram flour 1+1/2 cup
  4. Salt 1/2 tesp
  5. Red chilli powder 1/2 tesp
  6. Turmeric powder 1/4 tesp
  7. Baking soda a pinch
  8. Oil for Deep frying

Instructions

  1. Peel and wash potatoes.
  2. Cut potatoes into thick slices of approx 1 cm thickness.
  3. Make a deep slit in centre of each slice, so as to divide each slice into two without detaching at end.
  4. Sprinkle some chat masala in slits of all slices.
  5. In a mixing bowl take gram flour, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and baking soda.
  6. Make a thick lump free thick batter of pouring consistency. using water as needed. The batter should be really thick. It should give thick coating to back of your spoon.
  7. Dip each potato slice in the batter nicely and drop into hot oil.
  8. Lower the heat and fry fritters for 5-6 minutes per batch, so as to cook potatoes deep inside.
  9. Drain out from oil and cool them a little for about 15 minutes
  10. Cut each slice into two.
  11. Re-fry fritters in hot oil until crisp and golden. For better results keep stirring them in oil until done.
  12. Enjoy crispy potato chips fritters with tea.
