Ingredients to make Oats upma with beetroot and vegetables

  • Oats 2 cup .
  • Beetroot 1 large
  • Green peas 1 cup
  • Beans 1 cup
  • Potato 1 large
  • Carrot 2 no.
  • chopped green Chili 2
  • finely chopped Onion 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tbsp
  • Chana daal 1 tbsp
  • Urad daal 1 tbsp.
  • Lemon juice to taste
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves 6 to 8
  • Coriander leaves chopped for garnishing

How to make Oats upma with beetroot and vegetables

  1. Dry roast oats on medium flame and set aside. Cut carrots, potato and beetroot into small cubes. String and chop the beans.
  2. In a pan, heat oil and drop mustard seeds, chana dal and urad dal. Saute until mustard starts to crackle.
  3. Add green chilies and onions. Fry and add vegetables with 2 cups of water.
  4. On high flame, bring this to a boil and cook covered on low flame until vegetables are cooked. Add in roasted oats and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and sprinkle lemon juice. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
My Tip: You can also add any vegetables.
