Its a sweet and spicy in taste .Everyone at home loved it.For Almond halwa i just storebought almond powder for easy method.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Pitted Dates - 20
  2. For Bajji Batter :
  3. Besan Flour - 1/2 cup
  4. Rice flour -1/4 cup
  5. Salt -To taste
  6. Red chilli powder -1 tsp
  7. Hing -1/8 tsp
  8. Baking soda -a pinch
  9. Oil -For fry
  10. For Mango Almond Halwa :
  11. Mango Puree -1/2 cup ,I used Storebought pulp
  12. Almond Powder - 1/2 cup ,Used Storebought powder
  13. Sugar -1/4 cup
  14. Warm milk - 1/4 cup
  15. Saffron -Few strands
  16. Ghee -1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. For Halwa : Mix saffron in warm milk and keep it aside.In a Non stick pan add Mango puree,Almond Powder,Saffron soaked milk and sugar.Turn on the flame,Mix it continuosly.
  2. Once the mixture starts to thick add the ghee and keep stirring it.After 5 mins it leaves sides on the pan and you can take a ittle mixture and able to make a ball then its the right consistency.
  3. Switch off the flame and let it be cool down completely . Now take the dates and take 1 tsp halwa mixture,stuffed it carefully.Keep it on the plate.
  4. n a bowl take the besan flour,rice flour,salt,hing,baking soda & red chilli powder.Mix it with required water .The consistency should not be too thick or thin.Heat enough oil in a kadai.
  5. Dip stuffed dates in bajji batter and deep fry them in hot oil.Fry them on both sides until golden brown.
  6. Serve it hot !! The taste is truely heaven.
