ABOUT Pesarattu and Coconut Chutney RECIPE

Delicious healthy dosa from AP. It tastes best with coconut chutney/Sambar

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For Dosa
  2. 1 cup green gram dal
  3. 2 tablespoon chana dal
  4. 3 tablespoon rice flour
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Water as required
  7. 1-2 green chillies chopped
  8. 1 Inch ginger chopped
  9. 1 small onion finely chopped
  10. Oil to drizzle
  11. For Chutney
  12. 1 cup grated coconut
  13. 1 teaspoon roasted peanuts
  14. 1 tablespoon roasted chana dal
  15. 1 small piece tamarind
  16. Salt to taste
  17. 2-3 green chillies
  18. water as required
  19. For Seasoning
  20. 2 TSP oil
  21. 1/2 TSP mustard seeds
  22. 1 dry red chilli
  23. 4-5 curry leaves

Instructions

  1. SOAK DALS IN WATER FOR 5 HOURS. DRAIN EXCESS WATER
  2. WITH LITTLE WATER, GRIND DALS TO SMOOTH BATTER
  3. ADD GREEN CHILLIES AND GINGER AND GRIND COARSELY
  4. ADD SALT, RICE FLOUR AND WATER TO FORM SMOOTH FLOWING CONSISTENCY DOSA BATTER
  5. POUR LADDLE OF BATTER AND SPREAD, ADD ONIONS AND GENTLY STICK TO DOSA
  6. DRIZZLE OIL ON SIDES AND TOP. COOK BOTH SIDES
  7. MARK A TRIANGLE OVER DOSA
  8. FOLD AND TRANSFER TO SERVING PLATE
  9. GRIND ALL INGREDIENTS MENTIONED UNDER CHUTNEY SECTION WITH ADEQUATE WATER TO FORM SMOOTH CHUTNEY
  10. HEAT OIL IN A PAN, SPLUTTER MUSTARD SEEDS
  11. STIR DRY RED CHILLI, CURRY LEAVES FOR FEW SECONDS. SWITCH OFF
  12. ADD SEASONING TO CHUTNEY AND MIX
  13. SERVE DOSA HOT WITH CHUTNEY
