Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 cup chopped Mushrooms
  2. 4-5 chopped Garlic cloves
  3. 3 slit Green chillies
  4. 1 pinch of Cumin powder
  5. 1 cup of dried Red chillies
  6. 1 large Onion
  7. 1/2 cup of roasted and chopped dried Fish
  8. 1 tbsp Mustard oil
  9. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. To prepare mushroom taaba, bring 4 cups of water to boil and add garlic and slit green chilies. Simmer this for a minute.
  2. Now add mushrooms and cook covered on low flame. Season with salt and add tbsp. cumin powder. Cook till water reduces to little.
  3. To prepare muri batya, saute dried chilies in mustard oil until glazed and crispy. Drain and set aside.
  4. Over the stove top on medium flame roast dry fish until crisp and slightly charred with the help of tongs. Cut into small pieces and set aside.
  5. Add onions when the chilies are mostly ground. Season with salt and ground roughly.
  6. Serve this muri batya with mushroom taaba along with steamed rice.
