Ingredients to make Date and walnut cake

  • Dates 18 to 20
  • Walnuts 10
  • Milkmaid 1/4 tin
  • Sugar 1/4 cup
  • Maida one and a quarter cup
  • Vanilla essence half spoon
  • Baking powder 1 spoon
  • Baking soda 1/4 spoon
  • cooking Oil 1/2 cup
  • Salt a pinch
  • Ghee for greasing
  • Milk 3/4 cup

How to make Date and walnut cake

  1. Soak dates in milk.
  2. Grind oil, milkmaid powdered sugar, salt and vanilla essence.
  3. Seive maida baking powder and baking soda.
  4. Grind dates into a paste.
  5. Add dates and oil mixture.
  6. Slowly add maida mixture. Do not overmix.
  7. Grease the baking utensil with ghee. Pour the cake mixture. Sprinkle walnuts on the cake mixture
  8. Preheat oven for 10 min at 180 deg
  9. Bake at 200 degrees for 45 min
  10. Check using knife, otherwise increase the timings and remove from the oven.
  11. Cool it outside.
My Tip: You may decrease sugar according to taste.
