About Spicy Chandiya Recipe

Chandiya is a traditional recipe of Uttar Pradesh . It usually prepared in festivals.chandiya made with urad dal and tamper it with spiced water .Here i made it more spicy as grounded dal with ginger, green chillies and cumin .it is very healthy and tasty recipe .

Spicy Chandiya

Ingredients to make Spicy Chandiya

  • 2 cups urad dal
  • 1teaspoon cumin
  • 2 pinches heeng
  • 4 green chilli
  • oil to fry
  • For tampering
  • 1litre water
  • 1teaspoon cumin
  • 1/8teaspoon heeng
  • salt to taste

How to make Spicy Chandiya

  1. WASH AND SOAK 2 CUPS URAD DAL IN 4 CUPS OF WATER FOR 4 HOURS
  2. GRIND SOAKED DAL WITH 1TSP CUMIN 4 GREEN CHILLIES
  3. ADD 1TABLESPON CHOPPED GINGER
  4. TAKE IT OUT IN A BOWL AND KNEED IT TO MAKE A DOUGH AND MAKE SMALL BALLS FROM THE DOUGH
  5. APPLY SOME OIL ON PLASTIC SHEET
  6. APPLY OIL ON PALMS AND MAKE THESE BALLS SMOOTH .PUT A BALL ON PLASTIC SHEET AND FOLD PLASTIC OVER IT
  7. PRESS GENTLY WITH A BOWL
  8. NOW TAKE IT OUT CHANDIYA VERY CAREFULLY
  9. FRY CHANDIA IN HOT MUSTARD OIL
  10. KEEP THE FLAME MEDIUM AND FLIP BOTH SIDE
  11. TAKE THEM OUT WHEN IT BE BECOME CRISP AND GOLDEN
  12. FOR TAMPERING ☆ HEAT 1 TSP OIL AND CRACKLE HEENG & CUMIN
  13. ADD 1LITRE WATER IN IT .
  14. ADD SALT AND ALLOW IT BOIL
  15. COVER THE LID FOR 10 MINUTES.AND KEEP ASIDE
  16. TRANSFER THIS WATER IN A BIG BOWL
  17. ADD ALL FRIED CHANDIYA IN SPICED WATER
  18. AFTER 1 HOUR CHANDIYA BECOME SOFT AND TENDER
