Ingredients to make Bharwan Mirchi Pakora

  • 8-10 Large green chillies
  • 2 cup besan Flour
  • 2 potatoes boiled and mashed.
  • 1 tbsp onions chopped
  • 2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • water as needed
  • oil for frying
  • salt to taste

How to make Bharwan Mirchi Pakora

  1. In a bowl, mix the mashed potatoes with onion, 1 tsp red chilli powder, lemon juice and salt. Keep aside.
  2. Wash the chillies properly and dry them.
  3. Slit the chillies lengthwise, not all the way. Remove the seeds.
  4. Now stuff the green chillies with the potato mixture properly. Keep aside
  5. Mix besan flour, 1 tsp red chilli powder and salt with water until it becomes a smooth batter.
  6. Heat oil for frying in a kadai(on a medium flame). Dip 2-4 stuffed chillies in the flour batter, coat well.
  7. Drop them gently into the kadai and fry for a minute. Turn the chillies and fry both sides.
  8. Lower the heat and fry until it turns golden brown.
  9. Place pakoras over paper towels to drain excess oil.
  10. Repeat with remaining chillies.
  11. Serve hot with ketchup or chutney.
