Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. for the stuffing:
  2. moong dal - 1/2 cup
  3. Salt - to taste
  4. Green Chillies (finely chopped, optional) - 1
  5. Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp or more if u want spicy
  6. Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  7. Chat Masala - 1 tsp
  8. Amchur - 1/2 tsp
  9. Shah Jeeri - 1 tsp
  10. Coriander (finely chopped)
  11. For the dough:
  12. Refined Flour / Maida - 1 cup
  13. Salt - a Pinch
  14. Ghee/Oil - 1 tsp
  15. Oil for Deep frying

Instructions

  1. Soak the moong dal for about 20-25 minutes. Cook it until three-fourth done. Drain the water. The dal should not be soft.
  2. Add all the remaining ingredients of the stuffing to the dal.
  3. Now mix salt, ghee/oil into maida. Add water and knead to form a stiff dough. Keep it covered for 10-15 minutes
  4. Make small balls of the dough. Roll them to the size of a puri.
  5. Put a tablespoon of the moong dal stuffing in the center. Wet the edge all around the circle.
  6. Bring the wet edge to the center of the circle, covering the stuffing. Pinch and seal the wet edge
  7. Heat the oil. Deep fry on medium to low flame till they are brown and crunchy.
  8. Serve these homemade kachoris with mint chutney or tamarind chutney. Enjoy!
