ABOUT Orange chiffon cake RECIPE

This citrusy flavoured cake is ideal for tea time in monsoon season

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 6 eggs
  2. 75 gm oil
  3. Zest of one orange
  4. 90 gm Maida
  5. 1/2 tsp baking powder
  6. 100 gm orange juice
  7. 1/4 tsp Cream of Tartar
  8. 100 gm sugar
  9. 1/2 tsp Salt
  10. 2 tbsp icing sugar for stenciling

Instructions

  1. First sieve flour salt and baking powder and keep aside.
  2. Next separate egg yolk and egg white
  3. Start beating egg white first . Slowly add sugar and cream of tartar . Beat till stiff peaks form
  4. Next in a bowl add egg yolk and oil and mix well . Then add orange juice and zest
  5. Now add flour mixture to egg yolk mixture
  6. Now fold egg white in steps to this mixture .
  7. Be gentle with the mixture .
  8. Now bake it in 8 inch pan in a.preheated oven.at 160 degree for atleast 70 mins or till it is done.
  9. When it is done it will leave side of pan.
  10. Dust icing sugar on stencil(optional). Cake is ready to serve
