Eggless Chocolate Wholewheat Brownie

Ingredients to make Eggless Chocolate Wholewheat Brownie

  • 3/4 cup wheat flour (atta)
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 3/4 Cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1/4 cup oil (refined sunflower oil\rice bran\groundnut oil\vegetable oil)
  • 1/4 cup thick curd(dahi)
  • 1/4 cup warm milk (if required, add 1 more tbspn)
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1\2 cup walnut, coarsely broken

How to make Eggless Chocolate Wholewheat Brownie

  1. Sieve all the dry ingredients together (flour, baking powder, cocoa powder,salt), add powdered sugar and keep it aside.
  2. Grease the cake tin using oil, dust it with flour. Chop walnuts and add 1\2 of them in the flour mix, keep the rest aside.
  3. Preheat the oven @180 degree C (medium heat) for 10 mins. In a large bowl mix all the wet ingredients like oil, dahi, vanilla essence and milk.
  4. Gently fold in the flour mix into the bowl and keep mixing with a spatula. Add a tbspn of extra milk if required, to get the thick batter consistency. Mix only till all the ingredients gets mixed without any lumps.
  5. Pour it into the greased cake tin. Tap and level it. Add the remaining chopped walnuts on top.
  6. Place the cake tin in the lower rack\middle rack of the preheated oven. Bake it for 20-25 mins.Prick it with a toothpick\knife to see if the cake is done. If it comes out clean your cake is ready otherwise bake for 10 more minutes.
  7. Take it out and let it cool and slowly de-mould it. Enjoy Eggless moist, fudgy chocolate brownie with vanilla icecream!

My Tip:

Do not over mix the dry ingredients with wet ingredients. It may flatten the cake. While baking, if the top seems to be cracking, cover it with a foil after initial 15 mins of baking and continue.
