Ingredients to make Temple dal

  • Chana dal 1/4 cup
  • Tovar dal 1/2 cup
  • salt as per taste
  • Ginger 1/2 inch
  • Hing 1/2 tspn
  • Haldi 1/4 tspn
  • Rai 1/2 tspn
  • Green chillies chopped 2 (optional)

How to make Temple dal

  1. First soak dal for 1/2 hour.
  2. Then boil the dal along with haldi, salt, ginger and properly mash it. At Temple, they put sugar but I added a pinch.
  3. When the dal is done. Mash it. Heat a pan add 1/2 tspn ghee now add Rai, chillies and hing.
  4. When it splutter, pour the dal. The dal is ready to be served.
