ABOUT Temple dal RECIPE

It is a sweet dal prepared at puri Jagannath temple.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Chana dal 1/4 cup
  2. Tovar dal 1/2 cup
  3. salt as per taste
  4. Ginger 1/2 inch
  5. Hing 1/2 tspn
  6. Haldi 1/4 tspn
  7. Rai 1/2 tspn
  8. Green chillies chopped 2 (optional)

Instructions

  1. First soak dal for 1/2 hour.
  2. Then boil the dal along with haldi, salt, ginger and properly mash it. At Temple, they put sugar but I added a pinch.
  3. When the dal is done. Mash it. Heat a pan add 1/2 tspn ghee now add Rai, chillies and hing.
  4. When it splutter, pour the dal. The dal is ready to be served.
